About Us

Established in 1981, Lake County Repertory Theater successfully produced its first musical play—Li’l Abner—and went on to entertain Lake County audiences with ambitious productions of well-known plays. Among them were Arsenic and Old Lace and Harvey, as well as challenging musicals—including The Sound of Music and Fiddler On the Roof. Between 1987 and 1994, the group went dark due to the lack of a performance space.

We have won acclaim for our productions of works such as On Golden Pond, Steel Magnolias, The Mousetrap, Blithe Spirit, Driving Miss Daisy, The Exonerated, To Kill a Mockingbird and Bus Stop.

In 2008, Lake County Repertory Theater and the Lakeport Community Players joined forces to become the Lake County Theatre Company, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit
community theatre company. Charitable contributions to Lake County Theatre Company are tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law.
