LCRT Mission: To provide a quality theater experience to the people of Lake County
DRIVING MISS DAISY A HUGE SUCCESS!!

Derrick Harvey, Joan Holman and Walter Robinson
Driving Miss Daisy had an inspiring two-week run November 14-23, 2003. Derrick Harvey was charming as Daisy's ever-tolerant son (Boolie), while LCRT newcomer, Walter Robinson, director of the Highlands Senior Service Center in Clearlake, was elegant and compassionate as Daisy's driver and friend (Hoke). As Ginger Ingersoll describes Joan Holman, "She IS Daisy!"
Derrick Harvey and Joan Holman gather with Randy Hare, set designer for Driving Miss Daisy, after playing to a "standing room only" opening night audience, which benefited the Lake County Arts Council.
Opening night also featured a "Meet the Cast Reception," and music from pianist David Neft after the show. Director Mary Howe and Producer Ginger Ingersoll created magic in the Schoolhouse Museum Auditorium for a theatrical treat to begin the holidays.
2004 LCRT SCRIPTWRITING FESTIVAL
Finalists were presented January 17 and 18...
and the winner is: Artificial Intelligence ··· by Robert Frankel,
directed by Sterling Thayer, Jr.

Standing: (left to right) Mike Fowler, Paul Morse, Rob Frankel (Playwright),
Sterling Thayer, Jr., Rich Altman, Claudia Listman, Randy Hare.
Seated: Anne Riggs, Craig Dvorkin, Mary Costner, Linda Lake
A college professor faces ruin when a computer program named Alice crashes on the very day he is supposed to demonstrate it for a major investor. Aided by his assistant and an acid-tongued systems operator, Dr. Donald Rice scrambles to fix Alice before the investor can find out what happened. Playwright Rob Frankel keeps the action moving with snappy dialog and hilariously complex situations in this farcical romp through the worlds of high tech and high finance.
LCRT presents the full production of Artificial Intelligence on April 16-18 and 23-25.
Special thanks to Linda Altman for her tireless efforts to make the Festival a MAJOR SUCCESS. Also thank you to all the readers and judges.

LCRT MEMBERS TO BE POLLED ON OPENING NIGHT BENEFIT PERFORMANCES LCRT membership is to be polled via e-mail and US post (for members without e-mail) on the following:

LCRT ARTISTS TO BE RECOGNIZED
The LCRT Board approved an annual Awards Celebration for excellence in technical and acting achievement during the LCRT 2003-2004 Season. Ballots will be distributed to the membership at the LCRT Annual Meeting in June. A formal Award's Dinner will be held in late June 2004 to announce the winners. It was suggested we call the awards the "Johnnies." Suggested Categories include: Best Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress, Best New-comer.
Several years ago, LCRT created the "Bob Carlton Memorial" award in appreciation for and recognition of the time and work to an individual member of LCRT in addition to the John Weaver Award, Master Set design/ Lifetime Achievement. The consensus is that we award only LCRT plays presented in 2003-2004 and consideration to expand to other theater companies will be considered after this year’s event.
Please contact Ginger Ingersoll at:
to work on the event or assist with planning and committees.
CAST & CREW DISCOUNTS LCRT cast and crew for each production/play may receive one ticket free and up to four additional tickets at $5 each for the production they work or perform.
