LCRT STARS WERE FETED June 26
On June 26, LCRT honored and celebrated its twenty years of providing community theatre to Lake County with a Gala Celebration at Lower Lake's Brick Hall. Prior to the event, LCRT members were given the opportunity to vote for acting and technical achievement in twelve categories for LCRT productions mounted during the last two years. In addition, a special award of appreciation and achievement was given to John Weaver, who has been a tireless supporter of LCRT. LCRT would like to thank Ginger Ingersoll, who created and chaired the event, as well as Eric Patrick, Master of Ceremonies, Keith Larson, light and sound coordinator, and Bill Noteman and David Neft, who provided music.

LCRT Election Results

81 of the 105 eligible LCRT members mailed in ballots which were trabualated by representatives from the Lake Countyu Arts Council on July 20,2004. The new 2004-2005 eleven member Board of Directors is

At the July 21 board meeting officers were elected, thanks was given to those who ran and a board retreat was planned (August 1) to define programs, set policies and approve an annual calendar for the season.  The CalTrans roadside cleanup program was approved.

More about the LCRT Officers

Rod Bauer, LCRT President has a long history of interest and involvement in theatre, which began with avid theatre-going starting when he was a teenager, and includes many college-level and professional theatre courses in playwriting, directing, theatre history and mise-en-scene.  Rod is excited about Lake County Repertory Theatre and brings energy, ideas and management skills to the board. Cindy Car, LCRT Vice President has been completely immersed in theatre since her debut with the Lakeport Community Players production of Li’l Abner in 2001.  Since then Cindy has joined and served both LCRT theater directors and as LCP membership chair.  She also participated in LCRT Actors and Directors Workshop this spring. This fall Cindy will direct the next production of the Lakeport Players. She is the owner- Panache Salon in Lakeport. Voris Brumfield, Secretary writes the LCRT newsletter and shoots many of the publicity photos for LCRT. She was the executive Director for a professional theatre company in Houston for 3 years with a $300,000 budget, a former County Supervisor.  This spring Voris presented a two-day Actors Workshop and a Directors Workshop for LCRT members. Currently, Voris is directing and acting in Lysistrata and will direct To Kill a Mockingbird this fall. Jane Weaver Treasurer currently LCRT treasurer, is an actress, director, and costumer. Jane was instrumental in the reorganization of the Lake County Repertory Theater as well as in the renovation of the Lower Lake Schoolhouse as a museum that includes the stage used by the LCRT. She appeared in LCRT’s 2003

LCRT plans a Script Writers Workshop for November 13, 2004       Joseph Hayes, the playwright of the LCRT November production, “After Two” will present a workshop for playwrights in conjunction with the opening of his original comedy. Daniel Holland will direct “After Two,” which was a finalist in the LCRT Playing by the Lake writer’s contest.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” runs Sept. 24 – Oct. 3

Newcomers to LCRT Jenna Webb, Ben Rosen, Dylan Car, Jim O'Dell and Judy Page will join veterans Dan Lazarus, Don Myrick, Lisa Rosen, Frances Leuck, Brian Williams, François LeNard, and Hank Porter in “To Kill a Mockingbird”, an adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning novel. Voris Brumfield will direct, assisted by Linda Drew. Set design by Randy Hare with Evelyn Villeggiante costuming. They play is a  "love story, pure and simple:" love for the South, a father's love for his children and their love for him in addition to the portrayal of man’s inhumanity to others and self. The story is about dignity, tolerance and the difficulties of growing up in a rural community in Alabama during the depression year of 1935, through the eyes of Scout, the tomboyish daughter of Atticus.

THEATRE AROUND LAKE COUNTY

Comedy on Tilt 
- A Comedy Variety Show-Sunday -AUGUST 8th 2 p.m.
Comedy on Tilt presents skits, improvisations, jokes, songs, poetry, and instrumental music. Several LCRT members are involved in the production. This is planned as "clean comedy" (PG.-13) without profanity, racial/ethnic slurs, or an excess of sexual innuendo. To pitch an idea or arrange an audition, call Daniel Holland at 279-1559 or Janet Riehl at 279-8382.

Lakeside Inn  (6330 Soda Bay Road).Tickets are $10, light refreshments included, Lake County Arts Council and at the door.
The Lake County Arts Council sponsors the troop. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Arts Council.
